One big problem that can occur during a bottom paint project, or other type of large painting project, is paint roller hairs ending up in the applied paint. This is a very big issue on a bottom paint project because the paint roller hairs allow a way for waterborne organisms to get through the paint and start to grow on your boat hull very quickly. When applying hundreds or thousands of dollars of paint to your boat hull, the last thing you want to happen is application issues to cause any loss of bottom growth protection. So be sure to put this important step on your checklist…

rolling-roller-on-tape-insetPrior to using the paint roller, simply roll the paint roller up and down a strip of tape to pull off all of the loose hairs which would have ended up in the paint on your hull. It only takes a minute and eliminates this issue completely.
